Katowice is placed in southern Poland, in Silesia region. It's surrounded by plenty of other bigger or smaller towns which create Silesia Industrial District and agglomeration of over 2 million inhabitants. City is very well connected, there are major roads and rail routes, linking Poland with Europe in all directions.

Katowice in the Past

Katowice is a 19th century city, which had very important meaning especially during communistic epoch in Poland. It hasn't such rich history as Krakow or Warsaw, that's why we may find here completely different architecture.
