Where is Warsaw?

Capital City of Poland is situated in the center of our country. It’s crossed by Vistula – the longest Polish river. City is placed near the most important communication routs and has its own airport, Frederic Chopin Warsaw Airport, which is the biggest one in Poland.

Warsaw in the Past

History of the settlement in this area reaches the early medieval, when Warsaw was only a small village. Because of great placement, city has started to develop and in 1596 became capital of Poland. Today it’s the biggest Polish city with over 1,8 million inhabitants.

Wilanow Palace

The city of contrasts

On one side of the city there is the historic Old Town, the Baroque Royal Castle and many other monuments of its glorious past. On the other side You can find modern sky-scrapers and remains of communism times. Warsaw is the city of contrasts.

Strong Points: Amazing history and monuments, interesting architecture, great amount of cultural institutions and entertainment places like pubs, clubs etc.

Weak Points: Rush and noise characteristic for great metropolis, untapped potential of Vistula’s right bank with such interesting district like Praga.

Must-see for: Everyone who want to meet Poland!
