Works aimed to protect Auschwitz-Birkenau Extermination Camp from the effects of great flood in southern Poland are ongoing. At night swollen water of Vistula river broke levees and reached the area of concentration camps borders.

Inhabitants of Oswiecim and other close villages, fire brigade and employees of museum immediately took care over the safeness of exhibits and valuable documents. Important objects contained in museum of Auschwitz-Birkenau are safe.

Unfortunately because of flood’s high level museum is closed for the visitors now. At the moment we aren’t sure, when it will be opened again. Museum’s authorities inform, that tomorrow everything should back to normal, so forecast is optimistic. In addition we can expect that weather tomorrow will be better and it should stop raining.

About any following information connected with Auschwitz Camp’s condition we will inform You on our site.
