About Dunajec Rafting Trip

Dunajec Rafting Trip is an unique experience in Europe. Trip down a racing mountain river on the wooden raft, through the breathtaking Dunajec River Gorge in the Pieniny Mountain Range can admire everyone. Trial has about 18 km length and it provides amazing views of landscape and monuments placed at the Dunajec River banks.

During about 2,5 hrs trip you can admire inter alia:

  • Ruins of Nidzica Castle
    Dunajec Rafting - Nidzica Castle
    Nidzica Castle
    – 14th century stronghold placed on the right shore of Czortynskie Lake. In the past it belonged to Hungarian Dukes. It’s amazing architecture was an inspiration for many directors who filmed few movies and television series there. During rafting we can admire it from a distance.


  • Czorsztyn Castle
    Dunajec Rafting - Czorsztyn Castle
    Czorsztyn Castle
    – ruins of 14th century gothic fortified stronghold. In early medieval castle was repulsing many attacks of hostile armies. Thank to the placement on the top of the hill it was extremely hard to siege.




  • 15th century wooden church in Debno
    Dunajec Rafting - Church in Debno
    Wooden Church in Debno
    – Debno is a point of short break during Dunajec Rafting. You can admire here amazing wooded church, great example of medieval sacral art. For great attention deserves main altar which is priceless relic of panel painting.



  • Red Monastery

    Red Monastery
    - monastery placed on the Slovakian side of Dunajec River. In the past it belonged to Carthusian and Camaldolese orders. Monastery was founded by Hungarian duke as a penance for killing his rival.




  • Three Crowns
    Dunajec Rafting - Three Crowns
    Three Crowns
    – the highest mountain of Pieniny Range. Enormous rocky mountain makes incredible impression when your small raft swim near its slope. Area of Three Crowns provides the most beautiful natural landscape during whole tour.

Very nice way to see the countryside and mountains of southern Poland. Trip was well organized, relaxing and full of breath-taking views. Don't forget about something long-sleeved because sometimes could be chill and wet.

Whole trip was very nice. Convenient transfer from Krakow, unique experience but unfortunately we couldn't understand boatman's tales. I would like to go once again with the English-speaking guide.
