Situation is going back to normal. Water level in many places is still over danger point, but there is no risk of breaking the embankments and serious flooding bigger cities. Culmination waves on Vistula and Oder are running down to Baltic Sea. Also the weather is getting better, so now we can say for sure, the flood is gone.

Flood affected especially southern Poland including Krakow and Auschwitz what had a bad influence for tourism. Thankfully everything is stabilized now, there is no further danger so all tourism attractions are open again. Removing the flood damages is ongoing but it has no impact for the quality of tourist services.

Unfortunately not everywhere situation gives a reasons for optimism. In many places damages are very serious, losses require huge amount of money, people lost their entire properties. In addiction Baltic sea coast is threatened of epidemic, because of impurities brought by the wave. Poland will feel the effects of this horrible disaster for a long time.

Currently the highest water level is in the area of Poznan. It should fall in next few days, but now we don't recommend You to visit this city. Also Baltic Sea coast isn't very safe place now, so If You planned a trip to the area of Gdansk, You should delay it, until we get some information about sanitation. Other attractive places of Poland are fully accessible, so feel free to admire Krakow or Warsaw, visit Auschwitz Camp or make a trip to Wieliczka Salt Mine, because even after horrible flood Poland is still beautiful and it waits for You!
