Gdansk has it’s own airport - Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport which is placed 10 km from the city centre. This airport is one of the most important in Poland, it’s 4th concerning amount of servicing passengers.

Gdansk Airport was founded in 1919. In the first period of its existence it was servicing flights between Polish cities. In 70’s airport has been replaced and opened again in 1974. Thirty years later it gets a name of Lech Walesa.

Nowadays airport servicing fights between majority of important European airports. It has a contracts with many airlines and low-cost carriers like Ryanair, Norwegian, Lufthansa and Wizz Air.
