They play every year from 1993 and since that time they raised almost 400 million zlotys (85 million pounds). This money saved uncountable number of lives. This year they are playing for a 19th time and collecting money for children with nephrological and urological diseases. As every year 2nd Sunday of January will be marked by the little read hearts with the sign of Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity – the biggest charitable foundation in Poland.

Finals of GOCC are always filled with party and rock'n'roll atmosphere. Every bigger city in Poland organizes great events with street performances, contests and concerts of many famous stars as also independent artists. All performers don't take any money for their shows on these day. During whole Sunday volunteers with colorful boxes are collecting money. In the Internet there are auctions, where everyone can buy something totally unique often given by famous people – instruments of well-known musicians, trophies and equipment of sport stars, limited editions of books, CD's and other stuff like that. Event from the biggest Polish cities are emitted in Polish TV. In the end of the day there is an official counting of collected money, great fireworks show called “the light to heaven” and whole party lasts until about 10 pm.

Last year GOCC collected almost 43 million zlotys and buy equipment for prevention and early diagnosis of cancer in children. We're sure that these year the record will be beaten! You may join whole action! Be at Krakow Main Market Square or Warsaw Center on Sunday 9th January, take part in one of the most unique events in the World and put a coin or a bill to the one of numerous colorful boxes! As the GOCC's founder says - “They will play until the end of the World and one day longer” but it's not necessary to wait such long! Be there this year, you won't regret!
