Katowice Transport - City Transport in Katowice

The city Katowice does not have subway. Therefore the municipal transport(buses, trams) is very developed. Almost every area of the town is covered either by buses or trams. There are 200 buses lines and 12 trams lines within Katowice. The municipal means of transport belong to the city. They are still being modernized so for now 1/3 buses and trams is brand new(very comfortable, air-conditioned, easily accessible by disabled persons). The cost per ride is 3.00 PLN. The frequency of circulation is pretty the same as in many others polish cities: every 5 minutes during rush hours and 10-15 minutes in other part of the day. Obviously like everywhere in Poland the market of taxi corporations is developed. There are 10 big corporations and a couple of smaller ones. The cost for ride is 2,50-3,50PLN per km. You can always negotiate the prices.
