Home » News » New Record of visitors numbere in Auschwitz Museum

1.38 million guests visited Auschwitz's – Birkenau National Museum in 2010. Over 80 thousand visitors more than in 2009. New records show how important the museum is. The former Nazi camp is the most often visited landmark of its kind and also has the most visited musuem in all of Poland.

Last year Auschwitz had many foriegn visitors. 84 thousand Brits visited the site last year ranking them as the top foreignors visiting Auschwits. Followed by Italians(74 Thousand), Germans(68 Thousands), French(63 thousands) and Jewish people(59 thousands). Almost 1 million of Auschwitz visitors were students. Even the restricted air space due to the volcano eruption in Iceland and great floods in May didn't reduce the number of visitors.
We hope that this year the records will be beaten again, because the more people that learn about this hideous part of our history the safer our future will be.
