Poznan-Lawica Airport

Poznan Airport is located in Lawica, situated 7 km from the city centre of Poznan.

Poznan-Lawica Airport was established by Prussian invaders in 1913 and it has been a Polish airport since 1919. It is one of the oldest airports in Poland.

The airport, from its beginning, is split into two sections: northern, used for military flights, and southern that services passengers flights. Poznan-Lawica Airport caters not only for international, domestic and cargo flights but also general aviation. In 2001 new terminal was built.

The airlines that are flying from the Poznan-Lawica Airport: LOT, Lufthansa, British Airways, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Centralwings.

How to get to the airport:

Poznan Airport is linked with city centre by City Public Transport Company (MPK). You can also get to the airport by car or taxi. The list of the buses:

* from ” Rondo Kaponiera” by bus no. 59 or no. 48 (journey time about 30 min);
* from Central Railway Station by bus L (journey time about 20-30 min) or no. 242 (by night).

I thought I would let you know how we went on in Poland.

The first thing I would say is that we had a marvellous few days. We were obviously concerned about the restrictions imposed by the Pope’s visit but apart from the prohibition and the Castle being shut everywhere else was open.
