Presidential Elections in Poland are ongoing. First round on last Sunday showed us who have the biggest chances to become the most important person in our country. The winner is Bronisław Komorowski with 41,5% of votes. His main opponent Jaroslaw Kaczynski get 36,5% of votes. It means that due to Polish constitution second round of elections will be conduced. Poles will go to the ballot-boxes second time on 4th July.
Presidential campaign seams to be more peaceful that the last one during the government elections but it’s easy to see that candidates don’t love each other. “Law and Justice” political party of Kaczynski says that favorite is alleged to be a puppet in prime minister's hands. From the other site his rival is considered as very aggressive and intolerant politician, worse than his twin brother and former president. Many people say that this elections is a choice of lesser of two evils. But turnout of this elections was really high, it means that Poles are interested in our country’s interests.
Other candidates had no chances. The third one - Grzegorz Napieralski had less than 14% of votes. The rest are under 3%. Second round will be a hard battle between Komorowski and Kaczynski and we still can’t be sure who will be the winner. We are waiting for election debates and the important day of 4th June. There are no doubts that this choice has a key meaning for Poland!
