Auschwitz Extermination Camp
The World's most notorious place of genocide and mass grave. Started in 1940 as a concentration camp for Polish political prisoners,
in 1942 it became the centre for the extermination of European Jews. In 1940 - 1945 the Nazis killed about 1.5 million people there,
mainly Jews but also Poles, Gypsies, Russian POWs and people of other nations.
About Private Tour
Auschwitz Camp
You will spend about 3h 30min in Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps, where you will be given an English guided tour by the Museum's licensed guide. The tour begins with a 15-minute documentary film about the liberation of the camp, then the museum guide will show you exhibits in some of the surviving prison blocks, the gas chamber and the crematorium in Auschwitz. After a short break you continue to Birkenau, where you go up to the watchtower above the entrance gate to see the view of the biggest Nazi extermination camp.
Private Study Tour

The study tour lasts about 3 h longer than the standard tour and apart from seeing permanent exhibitions and buildings at the Auschwitz I-Main Camp and the most important original camp buildings in Auschwitz II-Birkenau, you will have the unique chance to see selected national exhibitions, the so-called Central Sauna, and the ruins of gas chambers and crematoria IV and V. Futhermore, we offer private tranport (VAN) and private professionally trained guides. Escape2Poland is the only agency that provides up to one hour free time in Birkenau.

Our guide made every effort to ensure we got the most from the visit, adjusting the tour to take account of large groups, and giving us the chance to see exhibits fully without being rushed or crowded. Our guide was very knowledgeable, but spoke in an interesting way rather than lecturing. This tour is a great way to learn without being stressed by practical arrangements. We also visited the Schindler Factory, which I was pleased we did, but again not as I expected. I was hoping to visit the old factory, possibly see a run down place that hadn't really changed much, however you cannot visit the factory, you can only go in the offices to the plant, and they have been renovated and filled with exhibitions that you might as well be in any modern museum, the fact you are in the offices to the old Schindler factory is almost irrelevant - again I suspect done for the "benefit" of the tourist industry.

supposed to do and where we were supposed to go, he was there ready to meet us as the tour at Auswich ended and took us up to Birkenau,
where he was again ready and waiting for us when the tour there ended.
he made sure that we got back to our hotel safe and sound.
On all occassions the drivers were extrmemely polite, nothing was too much trouble, also on all occassions we had a minivan which was very clean inside and out and very comfortable.

Next morning the same driver arrived on schelude to bring us to Autzweich, he was very friendly and answered any questions we had. On arrival at Autzweich we were introduced to our tour guide, she was very compassionate throughout the tour and very informative. On the return journey we asked the driver to drop us at a nice place to eat, which he did and his choice was a delight. For the following day's tour and pick up for the airport the service was first class.
We would have no problem recommending you. The service your company provided was brilliant, we got a great service at a very good price and allowed us to see a lot more of krakow in our short 3 night stay.

Negative. Sadly the time between Auschwitz and Birkenau left little or no time for lunch. There was a cafe at Auschwitz and I briefly managed to pick something up however had I known I would have taken a packed lunch. Although I have marked it as a negative it didn't spoil the day.

The female tour guide was excellent (Sorry don't recall her name) Had some hesitation re going on such a tour. Was impressed that she knew material over and above the information that was displayed in the museum(s). Never felt rushed. Tipped both driver and guide. That's rare for me!
