*Minivan transport is guaranteed only if you book the tour for 3 or more people.


Visitors may take a walk of 3 km through 3 levels in the Salt Mine down to 136 meters below ground level through chambers and passageways excavated in the 17th century. On the way visitors see underground chambers and chapels hewn out in the saltrock, statues of saints sculpted in salt, and saline lakes.

Every 8th person on a minivan is going for FREE - to book just pick 7 persons and put "FREE PLACE" into a special request box during the reservation process.

PLEASE NOTE that some companies offer only transport to Wieliczka advertising it as an "Wieliczka Tour". The tour around Salt Mine with an English speaking guide is a high additional cost about which you usually find out when you arrive at the Museum. Going with us you can be always sure that all fees are included.

Pick-up & Transport: daily pick-up from over 20 pick-up points in Krakow between 8.30-9.30 or in the afternoon between 15:00-16:00 (Krakow City Centre pick up points are located maximum 5 minutes walk from most hotels in the area). Transport by minivan or minibus. If you book for 3 or more people we guarantee a minivan transport with our driver from any place in Krakow (door to door service)

Please notice that:
  • Visitors enter the Mine descending a 380-step staircase to Level 1 (64 metres below ground level).
  • The return to the surface is by lift up the Danilowicz Shaft, from Level 3.
  • The temperature in the Mine, though constant is low (14C - 57F). That is why even in summer, warm clothes should be worn.
  • Absolutely no smoking or using any sources of open fire are allowed in the Mine. Using electric torches is not allowed either.
  • You can buy permission for taking photos for PLN 10
  • Wieliczka Salt Mine is accessible to visitors daily:
    April 1 to October 31: from 7.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
    November 2 to March 31: from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Museum will be closed on the following days:

November 1, December 24 and 25, December 31, January 1, April 3-4
