Szczecin-Goleniow “Solidarnosc” Airport

Szczecin-Goleniow Airport is situated 45 km northeast of the city centre of Szczecin, near Goleniow in the village Glewice.

The airport was built in the late 1950s and its purpose was serving as a military airport. In 1967 it was changed into civilian airport and after this year the runway was extended and a new passenger terminal was constructed. A new passenger terminal was opened in 2001. The terminal expansion concluded in April 2006, at which time the airport was renamed for the “Solidarnosc” trade union.

    I can say that Szczecin is a fantastic city. I’ve been there choosing accommodation in a having a long history Dana Hotel and great memories of staying there. The restaurant serves delicious dishes including goose and in the city there are many places which with you can fall in love, like the Waly Chrobrego Promenade.
